Viewing Gallery

A walk through a disused clay tunnel brings you out onto a viewing gallery of the dock.

Clay loading tunnel

The tunnel, when in full use, would have clay transported through it to the docks where it would then be loaded onto the ships.

Transporting China Clay
This process was undertaken right up until 1972.

The viewing gallery enables you to view an assortment of boats, not least the square riggers, resplendent when fully rigged. This proves to be an excellent point to take photographs.
